Daryl's father, George Burns Grist, was born in England in 1891. He married Ellen Dixon and they had three children - Nora, Dennis and Leonard. Dennis passed away in 1992 and his wife Olive died in 2004. Len died in 1999 and is survived by his wife Ann. George and Ellen were divorced and George moved to Canada where he changed his name to George Burns Dennis and married Rosa Ellen Godbeer. They had three daughters - Elaine, Daryl and Gail.
Nora has been married and widowed three times. She has two sons, Roger Mawer and Andrew Davidson.
Den and Olive have two children: Anne, married to Alan Haydock, and Colin, married to Suzanna.
Len and Ann had no children.
Elaine is married to Howard Hickman and they have two sons Greg, married to Cindy, Russel and a daughter Kelly
Daryl is married to Mel McCormick and they have a son and two daughters. Shawn, Shannon, married to Michael Lyon, and Kathleen, married to Stewart Berry.
Gail is married to James Ankofski and they have two daughters and a son - Margaret married to Christopher Lozon, Cheryl married to Dan Tarrow, and David.
