Family photographs of grandparents, extended family members, and a truly great guy, my late brother Ron
My father was born in Toronto in 1908 to Irish immigrants Mary McCormick (nee McDowell) and Samuel McCormick. My dad had two brothers, Sam and Austin. My father was transferred by his employer from Toronto to Montreal where he met and married my mother, May Jane Isabel Parsons. All the members of my father's immediate family are deceased.
My mother was born in 1916 in St Lazare Quebec to Mabel Maude Parsons ( nee Wilson ) and Timothy Edward Parsons. My mother had five siblings, John, Leslie, Bertha, Ruby and Wheatley. My mother left the family farm to work in Montreal where she met and married my father, William George McCormick. They had two children, Melville George McCormick and Ronald John McCormick. None of my mother's siblings are living.
My brother Ron was born in N.D.G., a suburb of Montreal and grew up on the Lakeshore in the suburb of Lakeside, attending John Rennie High School. After graduation Ron attended Bishop's and McGill Universities, earning honours' undergraduate and masters' degrees. In 1971 Ron married Gayle Frances Davey and they began careers as school teachers. Ron and Gayle have two children, Jeffrey Thomas and Stephen Andrew McCormick. Stephen will be married in July 2005. The family lives in Orleans, Ontario.
